About
the Birds
Welcome
to the website of Tim Ludwig and the birds that have been
years in the making and are now ready for national competition.
The
Ludwig birds were developed from a combination of Janssen,
Jan Aarden, an old 1992 Huskyn Van Reil cock that breed
4 youngsters before he went infertile. All 4 were great
racers. 2 sons placed 1st twice each, the other son breed
some great racers and a daughter breed a 1st place winner.
Ludwig birds also have some speed blood mixed in from
a special pair called the "Federation Pair"
who also have breed multiple 1st place winners including
4 different yearlings that placed in the FED 400 in 2002,
2003 and 2004 against around 2000 birds. All the birds
that I am now breeding from were consistent racers themselves
or have produced winning, consistant racers.
The
Ludwig birds are muscular, medium bodied with tight vents
& have tight strong wings. Ludwig birds perform best
at 250 - 400 mile middle distance races.
After
8 years of breeding best to best, racing and eliminating
the worst performers, I have developed a strain that can
compete well at the national level in young bird futurities.
2006
Results
I
hosted the Ohio Breeders Classic and didn't compete locally
in 2005 & 2006, however I gave 10 youngsters to a
local flyer and they helped him get 1st place wins and
1st average speed in the Concourse.
